Aberdeen Foam 2% HI-EX

2% High Expansion Foam (HI-EX)

A versatile, high quality High Expansion Foam concentrate for use with both medium and high expansion foam equipment using potable (fresh) water or seawater.

Used at a concentration of 2%, Aberdeen 2% HI-EX produces very stable foams for control of Class A and Class B fires in confined spaces.

Quickly extinguishes and secures Class A fires of material such as paper, wood and tyres and Class B hydrocarbon fires of liquids such as crude oil, gasoline, aviation kerosene and fuel oil.

Fire Performance Approvals

Aberdeen Foam 2% HI-EX concentrate is accredited to International Foam Standard:

  • EN 1568: 2008 Parts 1&2 - potable (fresh) water and seawater
  • IMO MSC.1/Circ 1312

Applications

Aberdeen Foam 2% HI-EX produces a very stable foam for combating Class A and Class B fires.

Provides three dimensional fire control and ideal for use in the total flooding of confined areas, such as:

  • Cellars and basements
  • LNG tank storage bunds
  • Aircraft hangar systems
  • Machinery rooms and voids
  • Ship holds and engine rooms
  • Warehouses

With medium expansion foam equipment, Aberdeen Foam 2% HI-EX offers advantages over Low Expansion Foams in the control of cryogenic flammable liquid fires or as a vapour suppression foam on toxic liquid spills.

Formulated for use with either fresh or seawater.

Suitable for use in both tropical and cold climates, with maximum and minimum storage and use temperatures of 50°C and -10°C.

Not suitable for use on fuels which are polar solvents and water miscible such as alcohols, ketones, aldehydes and ethers, or for the control of pooled liquid fires in the open.

Also suitable for use for training purposes.
